I'm plannig to switch from blogspot to a .com domain. 1.¿Will I loose all my traffic, search engine ranking (wich is great right now), and my alexa ranking? 2.Is it worth it? 3. Is there are domain company that accepts MoneyBookers or e-gold? Because my PayPal is limited because of my country.
sure it will affect your domain traffic and ranking. But after a while, if you put important and fully-aware link in your old blogspot pointing to your new .com , i'm quite sure your new .com site will bring you more visitor. so, i'll say that moving to .com is worthed, if you plan to maintain it in long term basis. no 3. You can find them in MoneyBooker site at merchants section. I have seen some of them, but forget the name.
Most companies accept only Paypal and Credit cards.. only Even Though some go ahead with Google Checkout
I don't think it's a good idea because you will loose your traffic unless you can do a 301 redirect on blogspot?
No you will not lose your traffic because once a user enter your .blogspot domain they will be redirect immediately to your new .com domain Yes it's good. Since blogspot is owned by google. You have the chance to be in the rank of search engine. and since you got your domain. there's a probably that your search engine rank will be doubled. And you will got a shorter url that will easily be remembered by your readers. for domain registration you can try this: http://www.yourwebpoint.com/ e-gold and moneybookers are accepted.. Hope I helped.
If you use the Blogger's custom domain feature, I suppose you wont lose your ranking and visitors, because Blogger automatically puts a 301 permanent redirect to your new domain. So when visitors and search engines visit: http://yourblog.blogspot.com they are redirected to http://yourdomain.com And if they visit: http://yourblog.blogspot.com/2007/11/yourpost.html they are also redirected to http://yourdomain.com/2007/11/yourpost.html So you don't have to be afraid of losing rankings but you can experience some duplicate content penalization for a while, since Google sees the same contant in the both of the URLs until it finds out that they only the domain is the real blog and not the Blogspot page. And about switching to custom domain, it is better in every possible way. It is rememberable, gives more trust etc...
yep what the people above said, you don't have anything to loose, this a great way to go from free to semi-free, now the next step after you settle in your domain name would be to get some paid hosting
Alexa ranking is the last thing you should worry, unless u are into PPP or the likes of it. But with google on wrath for those, it is better to stay clear of it with new sites.
