Hi, I was wondering, from a ROI (return of investment) point of view, is better to create a lot of good articles that will rank over time, or write a few articles and then focus on linkbuilding? If you had a limited amount of time during the day, would you dedicate more time to create quality content or to build quality backlinks? What is your opinion?
I would probably do a mix of them. Link building probably would get you better ROI, but without good content it would be hard to last the results.
As everyone is saying balance is going to get you the best ROI, but with only limited time I would stick to articles, over time they will produce you more traffic and sales, link building will be better short term, but personally think article will be more beneficial in the long run.
Actually, both are extremely important for good ROI .... For organic link building you need to create good quality content. If you have quality content, you do not need to put in huge effort for link building.
Is interesting how the "gurus" usually take sides. Some say content is king, others that backlinks are the king, but I agree with all the comments that you don't have to choose because both are king. At the end, it will depend on the quality not on the type. What do you think about this?
Yes the quality, navigation and content of a website is very important. A visitor must feel like contacting the website owner at the end of the day. But to get a visitor you have to be in the first few pages of search engines. Well this is where the backlinks and entire off page optimisation comes into picture.
Absolutely, @webcosmo is right. Mix of them is recommendable. Only link building or content couldn't provide the result as you are expecting.
