Did I trip a filter or something in Google? My site was consistently getting 50 visits a day for 3 years and in April I updated the content and might have tripped a filter. Since April it has gone to 5 visitors a day from 50. All I did was increase the content and keywords. Nothing past 5% so no keyword stuffing. When can I expect it to come back? It has been almost 2 months now.
Has your search engine position changed? The only thing that is worth trying is to write up some more content, and see if it triggers the return of traffic.
I feel your pain. I've just had the same experience but I was getting traffic from MSN on one site and google on another - same issue both sites. Lisa
Maybe your site rank got lowered in the Google search page. I don't think it was anything on your part, just other sites got more competitive. My idea would be to keep adding content, pages, and keywords. Do some SEO
I think its a normal thing. In my case,my blog orluters have also some problem on some times... I think it will be ok within few days... Hope for the best.
Hello, Sometime this happen when you re design or work again in your site, try to win or buy strong backlinks. And.... wait Jakomo
PR is the same and yes I am working on it. It seems hopeless. DOes anyone else have a story and perhaps a guess of when it will be back if ever it will be?
I gotta story for you : once upon a time I had a site achieve over 10.000 unique visitors per day. Yep, good money, good times they were. It vanished from google overnight. No explanation - I had done nothing out of the ordinary. 3 months later it came back, same ranks, same traffic. It was a 3 month random "penalty"...and since I had lost so much I got pissed and did not change a thing on it.... Meaning that I just let it sit there... When I saw the server load back up I knew it had come back.... Hope it makes you feel better. Sometimes it just happens.... Try logic. If nothing you did could have triggered it, then just wait it out.
I have a few clients that this has happened to. No major changes were made, no shady SEO tactics were used and the competition was not making any big moves. The sites either dropped several pages and in some cases completely off the SERP's all together...just to reappear later on.
Thank you for this. This gives me some hope. It can be very scary if you mess around with Google. It can change your life in an instant if you alter your site too much. I am guessing I put the site into the 3 month penalty as well. Will keep everyone posted.
Sometimes you might not be doing anything wrong. But maybe your competition is working harder and harder. Check your positions and see if you have fallen down some places or what. Also make a lost of keywords on which you were recieving the traffic in past and compare it with the current search keywords. You will know for which keywords you are losing the traffic.
