Just want to say that last week one of my main keywords dropped form #1 to #61 with Google.ca, but I will not do anything now, waiting the SERPs to settle down and then I will see
I checked your backlinks a lot of them have the anchor "Online Dating Service", I am not sure if Google starts undermining the anchor text or starts applying a small penalty when you get a lot of BL with the same anchor cause I have similar case to yours Any way I hope I am wrong, and no need to jump to conclusions lets wait a while and see, I will update the thread in case of recovering
Actually I have very different anchor links but 'online dating service' is the major one. On google back links, it does not show others but on msn back links, you can see the variations.
Looking at it once more for www.mybestdate.co.uk keyword, I am on 3rd page too. Lots of rubbish spam results like people who want to use my keyword for ranking and etc comes up. Shall I write to google and ask about it or shall I leave and wait for 1-2 months to see the changes? Is it a waste of time, writing to google?
Thanks wisam, I believe I am in 'minus 30 penalty' because of my subdomains. I didnt know there was such a penalty till today. I learnt it today, when i made a search, thousands of people had been victims of this penalty. I will be removing my subdomains and putting old link structure back and send a reinclusion request and start the waiting game, as usual
If the SERPs settle like how it is now, then definitely your site got some kind of penalty, may be it is not -30 cause I can see your site before that. Any way regardless of the penalty's name, the thing that I am not sure about if those subdomains you are using are the reason for this penalty
I've changed my subdomains to seo friendly directory based links back, submitted a sitemap and made a re-inclusion request from what i've read in WMW, still same. My site gets to upto #21 and then google system pushes back to fifties, I still cannot rank for my domain name, i rank 34 for my fully qualified domain name. I am sure, I've got some kind of penalty. Can be subdomains or anchor text penalty but i dont think so as i've ranked for these keywords for 4-5 months, what i've changed recently was subdomains to make google index my deeper pages which backfired i believe. My outbound links are all white hat and iam sure im not penalized for duplicate content or anything like it. What else can be penalized for? How is your website doing after the dance, any better, wisam74us?
You play around with your site linking structure a lot lol.... Ive had sites disappear from top 20 rankings to unseen in top 20 pages of Google serps without even changing them onpage... lol If you move too much that means either 1) you are promoting too little or too much 2) you are crapping around changing too many key things (linking structure) on your site
It is ok now, all my fears about potntioal penalty has been gone, I hope you 'll get the same thing. Reinclusion request may need months to be handled and you need to be sure that you really have removed the reason for the penalty (This is the hardest part especially when you think thay all the SEO practice that has been done is white hat), I hope that your site is going to recover soon . Please Buzz the thread with any good news
I filed a reinclusion request a week ago and now I can rank for my domain name and keyword in my domain name, hope to gain some more serps to start getting more traffic. Currently I have very good positions in Yahoo but traffic no near before this incident. Nick_Mayhem and whitegreyblackhat are so right. I shouldn't have played with my link structure that much
