Google give you your PR and because they control 70%-80% of all traffic you have to be aware that getting a high PR will get you higher in google.
Screw pagerank! If you have built yourself an army of affiliates hungry for commissions what difference does your pagerank make? You will get traffic and sales. I don't trade links, work on SEO, or even look at my PR and I get awesome results every day.

You can have a very unpopular keyword and you can be ranked with a very high PR with no one ever look at the word but since your keyword is very unique which brings you a higher PR through backlinks. Your traffic comes from essentially your content and how PR6 or above view your site. If PR6 or above site links to 200+ people, your site's visibility will see little impact. It really varies with a lot of factors, but PR and traffic are not related.
