from 20 visits a day to 460 a day

I was checking my stats for the website in my signature. I usually get 20-25 visitors a day. But not today. Today I received 288 visits and 460 impressions. I looked at my refferals and I found out that autohits.dk sent me all this traffic. Now I know that I did not signed up with them. So it is really strange. Has someone else encountered something similar?

Yes, but it does work, since I would definately visit their site.

What I would do, is tell this to any advertisers on your site, since this could display badly for them....

That happened to my site, and its not good if you have Adsense.
It goes against their TOS and can get you banned

I figured it out. Someone has stolen the code of my webpage and forgot to remove the counter script.

If you use any auto hits programs paid to click, paid to surf etc you will be banned by google without question and you will have no chance getting back your account google.

I agree, Google will cancel your account if you use any auto hit programs and there is no way to open the account ever again.
