From $2/day back to $0.85/day

    Hello DP experts,

Last month of April I was so happy because at last my adsense earnings improves to $2/day, my highest 1 day earning on that month is $6.80. Now here comes May, my adsense income went back again to $0.85/day.

Can somebody help me or explain what's wrong? I still receive the same number of clicks and my traffic just improves slightly.

    Thanks in advance!

I think a majority of publishers are currently having the same problem. There is not much you can do. Earnings are lower overall....

yes, many publishers face the similar problem. Perhaps it is related to the arbitrage issue. And we are entering the last days for this month. Some advertisers perhaps reduce or even stop their advertisement.

Don't feel disappointed with the low CPC. It will return eventually. What's needed to be done is to ensure you don't change anything, but find out if you had change or modify something over the last couple of weeks that could have caused the shortfall in revenue.

The price for adword ads go down before memorial day. Not a big shopping holiday. Thus earnings per click decline.

I call this the Adsense Roller Coaster. Get in, strap-down, and hang on!

it's because of these ups and downs that it's a good idea to diversify with other income streams to help level-out the ups and downs..

There could also be the summer factor coming into play. Advertisers are notorious for cutting doen on their budgets slightlya t the start and through the summer. However, it should only be affected slightly. Its not as if they go away for the summer and return in October, like the stockmarket.

The ups and downs will vary according to the topic area of your website.

Most computer related sites will have done well around the launch of Vista, but things do go quiet at the start of summer.

A drop in Adsense earnings can be caused by 1 or a combination of:
    1) drop in number of site visitors
    2) decrease in CTR (clicks/visitors)
    3) decrease in $ revenue/click
Which one(s) apply to your situation?

If your site got same people all the time, it is not possible to make exactly the same earnings whole month. New visitors are tend to click more often than regular ones.

Must be to do with the advertisers bidding less for their ads.

We're only talking about $1-$2 a day here. At that level, it's extremely easy to see wild swings that have nothing to do with anything.

In some sectors, you're talking about 2 clicks. So one day two people come and click. The next day one. You've got a 50% decrease.

It would be one thing if your average went from $100 a day to $50 or something like that. But, you're dealing with so few clicks that it is EXTREMELY easy to get swings.

Increase the traffic you could have alot opr returning visitors and this will lower your clicks as people stop clicking after a while so just increase traffic as much as you can all the time.

I think it dephends on your niche.

My sites are sports/soccer related and offcourse season is over, my earnings also fail down.

Try summer/tourism sites, im sure they are on fire ATM

    sorry for my bad eng.

This is usual, from 2$ to 0.85$.
You will experience this in the future also.

Do you want to here my story this week???
I went from steady 20-25$ a day from one site to about 1$ as a result of recent Google dancing
