Hey DPers! AM very glad to be a part of this community, and the things i have learnt here is well worth over $2000 of ebooks... And the past week has been very great to me, and proved you can still earn promoting clickbank products via Adwords. I have made this post to instill faith in newbies like me, that there is money to be made, if you know what your doing. Pls: the experts in affiliate marketing, feel free to share your thoughts here and correct me. 1. Have a landing page/site where your review 3-5 products falling under your niche. 2. Brainstorm all the possible keywords using wordtracker or similar tools. 3. Generate as many adgroups as possible, this will help in improving the CTR and inturn the Quality Score. 4. Have 2-3 ads in a adgroup. Test them for perfomance and nuke the worst ad. 5. Have one ad with the {KeyWord: ALT TEXT} tag. In my experience, this ad always have the maximum CTR and down the line you can reduce the CPC and can still hold the same AD postion.( When a user searches for " Blue Widgets" the KeyWord is replaced by "Blue Widgets") 6. Always target for the optimal position of 4-6. This position has proved to be effective and promises a healty ROI. 7. Do NOT use Adsense/other exit ways. Make your visitor click on your merchant links. 8. The review itself should appear to be unbiased and should convince the visitor that you are an expert in that particular niche and you have actually tried the products and reviewed them. 9. Review the product based on two or more factors such as "Quality Of Product", "Customer Support", "Value For Money" etc.. 10. Start your campaign with a small budget and test the waters. But dont come to conclusion until you have sent a optimal number of visitors to your merchant page. 11. Make a daily report and anaylse them. This may include your cost spent on adwords, sales, refund, Net Profit. ( P.S: while calculating net profit also include the cost of Hosting, Autoresponders, and other costs involved in running the site" 12. Use newsletters/auto responder service. Newsletter subscribers become your lifetime prospects. 13. If your not good in english hire a copywriter to do it for you. I m from India and english is not my primary language hence I hired a writer off elance who did a great job. 14. Last but not least. The bottom line is " Test-Track-Tweak". I had made the above changes to my adwords campaign and averaged around $40-$50 net profit / day. But it all depends on what products your promoting and do it carefully. Don't fall for huge commissions. Look at the merchant sales page and only choose products which you think you will BUY on seeing the sales page. Conversion is the key here. Making 5-6 $13 sales is more likely than making a $49 sale. What more i can say.. THANK YOU!! P.S : I were selling $52 worth adwords coupon on DP for $2. Now I have decided to give them away for FREE to share my little success with you all and let you kick off your campaign. I still have 5 more and will give them for the first 5 who PM me
2 coupons remain.. @Abbadox.. think you ve got me wrong here. This is Adwords coupon and not Pack.. PM me if you want one..
Haha, makes me think I should start writing "false" testimonials page. Or even better, page where it looks like a company that sells product and under you have users who can leaves comments, but the comments are always good.
Hehe, i'm a newbie when it comes to adwords, but i might try this even if i was to slow for that free adwords coupon hehe. Thanks for the inspiration
Good post zappy. I always stress on #7. But I see people making the same mistakes across their sites. Loading review sites with Adsense or other distractions results in major loss of revenue. A review site should be focussed and full of information. And with all the other pointers from zappy, one cannot go wrong.
ok probably a dumb question, but I am confused what #5 is?: 5. Have one ad with the {KeyWord: ALT TEXT} tag. In my experience, this ad always have the maximum CTR and down the line you can reduce the CPC and can still hold the same AD postion.( When a user searches for " Blue Widgets" the KeyWord is replaced by "Blue Widgets") so how do you determine what keywords you want in the ALT TEXT? I am confused but would like to know what this means. (still quite the newbie here!) y
