my friend who has a site with different categories. Each categories contains many pages. He asked me if it is better to split it into minisite. He asked me for solution but I am unable to answer. I feel bad so I post here, I wonder if anyone can gave me some advises which I can pass to my friend. Some of his categories contain more than 100 pages, will it be better for him to split it into two site or just one site. How many page will be more appropriate for each site? Hi, With a large site covering several topics your friend might consider using sub-domains. For example: www.mainsite.com/ http://category1.mainsite.com http://category2.mainsite.com They are easy to set up providing the host package is decent and will be logically organized and linked to for engines to index easily. This is not the only way to do it - He could use folders for each category like so: http://www.mainsite.com/ http://www.mainsite.com/category1/index.html Hope that helps a little
