Stealing back a cheap domain that you bought with Paypal is a minor problem, somehow letting a scammer get any kind of access to all your domains by finding out your account id and then scamming access to your account is the real risk.

One solution to at least make sure the scammers don't get into your godaddy account with all your domains is open a second godaddy account just to do transactions. Buy domains into that account which is otherwise empty, and then after the deal is done and you wait some period you can push the domains into your permanent account. Use a different email address on the quarantine account where you do the transactions.

did you read my last post in this thread.. it's simple...in a push domain procedure , it's not compulsory to give your Godaddy customer id (ex: 35235635 ) to the domain seller

Just give your Godaddy username(ex: MisterBananaHolocos) and your email

Godaddy staff will not retrieve your password if the domain seller not tell your real Godaddy costomer id

    clear?

After a lot of hesitation, I'm proud to say I just tried my first DP transaction! Pure 100% rip off. Seller didn't even pretend to deliver the services! Almost funny. Except for the 200 bucks!

To my astonishment, Paypal got the money back for me. Wild, huh?

Can "domain locking" prevent such a scam?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the info.
But firstly you have to confirm whether the details you got above, is really his info.
Because Ive been hacked before, and many others too. Found out the hacker hacked a godaddy account and was selling hacked domains..

I suggest you to not expose that whois..
We can not accuse that person, because he's not necessarily a suspect.
If I was a liar, I can not publish my address in whois, of course, that sly trickster and slandering Haady Firmansyah as suspect..
    Just my 2 cent, CMIIW..

I can assure you it is the correct person, because he gave his name to Godaddy when he called them and also the whois details that I posted above are also showing the same name, so its pretty clear to me.

Whatever my friend, this person could easily clear his name if he just trasfered the domain that he stole back into my Godaddy account, but as of now it is still in Haady's name...

    Hello
I got a pm just now from an seller, he says:

"Please make the payment as personal payment if possible, because paypal will charge 3 dollars as fee from me if payment from any other method.

Also send your Godaddy Customer Number and Email ID. "

I decided to cancel the bidding for security reasons.
Anybody who asked for godaddy customer number would be treated seriously, but beside this, have you ever send money as personal payment?

you did a common newbie mistake!

NEVER I MEAN NEVER GIVE ANYONE YOUR ACCOUNT INFO!

ONLY GIVE THEM YOUR GODADDY CUSTOMER # OR USERNAME AND YOUR EMAIL ON FILE THATS IT!

THANKS FOR THE INFO THOUGH AND WELCOME TO DP.
