    Hey,

    What do you think of this new look: http://www.earth4energy.com/indextest2.php ?

    I plan to go live with it tomorrow.. I think it looks quite fresh. I know its just the background however backgrounds are quite important. Its the only thing the visitor sees the entire time.

    Like it?

    The logo on the top right needs to be fixed - need a transparent background.

    The order now button contains graphics identical to energy2green...

    I have made many sales for e4e and I think that people will find the DIY diagrams in the above slideshow difficult..

    I was playing with this for a while. Is the blue background around the logo visible when the page is fully loaded? On your screen does it overlap the clouds?

    I was going to make it transparent but the colors in the logo didnt blend well as a gif image.

    maybe he changed his order button, doesnt look the same. + who cares if it did? Parts of e4e have been duplicated about 20 times.

    hmm i can see how it would make the whole task look too difficult for some people. I may look into different slideshows in the future that dont show the build process but only the complete items. Thats something i didnt think about so thanks for that.

    Yeah mate, I'm just seeing a white background, a couple of graphics but no background image, I'm using FireFox 3 :) however when I load it in IE 7 it works fine with a background.

    Yep. - you just set this property in the backgroundstyle "background: url(your image url);"

    I'm on Chrome. If I were you I'd separate the background properties out individually:

    background-image: url(http://www.earth4energy.com/images/background2.jpg);
    background-attachment: fixed;
    background-position: top center;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    Code (markup):
    Looks fine then. It'll be interesting to see how this split test turns out!

    Edit I see no background on Zero Chemicals - plain white. Here's a tip for testing your sites: www.browsershots.org

    Great design.

    Glad you didn't decide to recreate the whole webite, which would be a stupid idea ;) Slight changes work best.

    Well done!

    Thanks bl4ckman, I would only ever do small changes :)

    How does it look now for the guys on firefox and chrome? I changed the code to what Tiger said.
    I had a look on browsershots but its always better to check straight from the browser

    Don't forget to change the <TITLE></TITLE>... It's currently "Untitled Document".

    The background looks great, but have you tried changing the headline a bit? maybe adding a few more about "how homeowners have saved over xxx$" and how many others have set up home businesses in this niche, mentioning this early on would get their fantasy juices flowing and by the time they reach the end they've already spent the money they saved and started their own energy business in their minds.

    Best of luck with the new design :)

    Thanks for the idea. I will brainstorm a few headlines tonight. Just need something to build curisoty so they start scrolling :)
