Google Loves updated content, and yes, it would be a good idea.

If every new page title you put on is corresponding to some actual content, I don't think you will have any issues with the SE's.
I have recently changed all the page titles of my first site (I just wasn't that much into SEO once when created it few years ago) and there was no any change in traffic or rankings - they are slowly getting reindexed with the new titles.

A better example, exactly for the home page is one of my affiliate programmes. They change their home page title few times in the month - depending on what's hot for sale (without actual text content on the home page), and they seem to be doing just great!
So I think you will be fine. However, to be safe & definitely rank higher change your title according the content you place/promote on that page at a given time and also include some relevant H1.

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

Sure it could affect your website SERP's as it will create a list of various targeted keywords in the page title :)

However, it always depends on the title: text, keywords, length etc..

My test was changing my website page title on pages once a week for one month,

I found if anything it hasn't made a difference but maybe more SEO and I am re ranked with new titles!

I used to change my title like once a week for a couple of months, to test different keywords. I never seen any major drop or any negative reaction from Google to be honest.

    eric_wahlberg,

Frequent change of home page title can certainly reduce ranking in google if it is not followed by a corresponding change of content, but if it is followed no.

If you would like to be truly honest and useful according to visitors and ranked high in google, your home page title have to be determined by optimized content on page and related to anchor text of inbound links.

Frequently changing of titles can affect your rankings it can be good sometimes but sometimes it can be bad. If you are frequently changing the titles you can't see the effectiveness of the title that you've created.

It can increase or decrease your ranking depending of page's content title. The frequency is not important, the relation between the title and your page is important. If you rank very well and you change your title, then your risk more to see your ranking dropping.

Yes, changing the title on a regular basis can have a negative effect on your rankings. Even changing something like the meta description can have a negative effect.

From the time you make the changes, it could be 2 - 4 weeks before your site stabilizes again.

The page title is one of the main places Google finds keywords. Changing the title changes your keywords so will very likely affect your SERPs performance.
