People sometimes ask how often does GoogleBot come by your page and the rumor is that this is influenced by Page Rank and frequency of changes. I thought I'd present some real data (with links to the actual Apache logs) for those interested.

So I just added a column (#9) on the V7ndotcom Elursrebmem stats page that shows how frequently GoogleBot spidered the main PR7 V-E contest page which is updated about once/twice a week.

In the first 3 months of the contest, there were 1,209 hits from 85 unique IP addresses. However, 30 of those don't appears to belong to Google (i.e. people are spoofing the User-Agent), so the real V7ndotcom Elursrebmem spidering numbers are 815 hits from 55 unique IP addresses - i.e. almost ten times a day - WOW!

As a test, I added a "!" to the title tag the morning of April 15th ... so I'm kinda curious to see how soon that is reflected in the SERP's which may provide some insights into how fast the indexing process occurs in that area.

Tale to the topic: I recently emailed some link pointing to my site. The link is unique in that it was never published on the web, somewhat weird too. People, whom I send the link, somehow leaked it to the web same day I send it, and again same day I was so VERY surprised to see google hiting that link in my stats tool. When I saw it in stats I fist could not imagin how it could happen, that link I just written in e-mail (not even web page) immediately hammers my doors from web. All same day, even within hours!
