I have an established .co.uk website for a French Gascony chateau aimed at English customers. The site is doing really well in the serps for most local search terms but the customer now wants a French version of the site to attract French custom. The site is www.chateaudeplehaut.co.uk and I am thinking of adding a subdomain with the exact same content only in French: ???? Will a .com subdomain work with a .co.uk domain name?? Also, is a .co.uk site hosted in England likely to do OK int he French serps? Would appreciate any advice as I don't want to jump in and do something that doesn't work for the customer. Part of her custom comes from the local tourist board referrals and part comes from search engines.
