It is an abomination to many people to serve food that is not Kosher to them!

Would you stand in a food line in China to eat Dog

Sorry, Kalvin, this does smack of racism to me. We don't need to swing way over to neo-nazism under the guise of charity.

That being said I would still permit the soup to be served as it would indeed at least feed some folks. I don't see where there is anything suggesting in this report that no other organization, charitable or state funded, is not also there to feed. But I would certainly call it for what it is - hypocracy. And if I were these pig soup organizers, I would be cautious knowing that the Day if Judgement is around the corner for all.

Mat 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
v4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Mat 6:2 Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mar 12:42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. v43 And he called [unto him] his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

You know it seems to me in all this Iraq stuff we forget the truth that all our young brave men and women over there fighting these islamists, would also give their lives were any muslim in America denied his right to believe in his god. Afterall, was this not proven in Bosnia?

I suppose if a far-right wing racist group as a private organization wishes to discriminate against people for whom this food is an abomination, alright. I draw the line against forbidding folks to drink at the same water fountain, but I guess if they are handing the food out, I wouldn't be able to say shut them down. However, if like here, they receive certain advantages from being a not-for-profit, then screw them....shut them down.

The comment made by the TS re: "food banks, now with culturally sensitive menus,|" is off mark, in my opinion. It isn't "cultural sensitivity" to abhor someone effectively saying, "those who have a religious prohibition against the eating of (you name it), die. We only serve (you name it)," as much as it is basic human decency.

In total agreement. The men and women dying do so honorably. Though I abhor what I think is the waste of their precious lives, and the lives of civilians getting in the way, there is no finer example of honor than these people.

The only problem I see is that they let riots control what they do - if you did everything for your crying kids you just spoil them. If your teenager is mature enough to speak and reason with you then it benefits both.

I see this as reactionary due to threats and/or violence, making it a form of terrorism at worst, retardedness at best.

If they want to be sensitive to peoples diets because someone informed them that they don't eat pork great! But don't do it because of threats.

Give them poor french police some real bullets next time there is a riot, it might help calm some things down.

No it is not. It is abomination to them if they eat it. Don't be stupid!

If that is what they served and I needed food - yes! In fact I bet cat would taste better, more tender meat because of less use of muscle. More marbelized fat. mmmmm getting hungry - must find neighbors cat...

If they are doing it to purposly not have to serve certain religious people then yes it would be racist. Otherwise it's no more racist than a Vietnamese restaraunt not serving Mexican food.

Should food banks be forced to not specialize in a historically very healthy meal just because it offends some?

Well, if that is the case instead of sending road kill to rendering plants to be converted into bone meal and meat as an ingredient in dog food we could just feed it to the homeless!

Sorry, but I lack the appeasement and surrender qualities to be a democrat. Spit balls won't get the job done ;)

Bacon is god's gift to mankind.

So is pork and southwestern green chile stew. Man, got a hankering for both. Making boeuf bourgignonne as we speak, garrnished with my own applewood cured bacon.
