Women in France are not free to wear what they want.... no women right!!

    sad :( but true

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...burka-ban-police-arrest-two-veiled-women.html

if same thing happened in a Muslim country, where a police arrest two women to wearing nothing, then the whole world start shouting that women are not free in Islam countires But thanks to God, you can wear what do you want if you are living in a Muslim country!!!

The burqa ban is a good law since it prevents both crime and enforced oppression . As for police arresting naked women that happens all the time . It's called public indecency and it's prohibited in most of the countries in the world .

    Vive la France !

The idea that women in islam wear the burka because they want to is ridiculous.

Actually vebtools is tired of hearing bad things about muslims and muslim countries. He posted this thread some time ago. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2068350. The thread shows someone who was not a muslim did a terror attack and that all terrorists are not muslims. This thread is just similar.

Yah, but its still pretty funny watching him brag about the rights of women in places like Afghanistan. The comedy from the Vebtools and IsraeI have got Jon Stewart beat, hands down. They are like the real life version of these guys:

Yes, women there can wear exactly what they want... as long as it's what's dictated by their husband, clerics, men of the town, Shariah law, etc.

If not... getting beaten, whipped or stoned will surely make them "want" the approved attire next time. It's called self-preservation, it's a normal human aspiration.

Kudos to France for removing the ability of men to intimidate women into "wanting" to wear whatever keeps them from getting the snot beat out of them.

Women in France have MUCH MUCH MUCH more rights than in any Islamic country (and you know it). They are actually treated like human beings!! Shocking, isn't it?! Can't really say the same for places like Iran and Saudi Arabia, now can we.

Hmm... this is PARTLY true. The ability to "wear what you want" depends on:

    * Which Muslim country you are in, as well as which area of the country you are in (in the big cities of progressive countries such as Lebanon, you can see women in mini skirts going to party on a Saturday night, etc.) But many countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia impose strict restrictions and violating them could result in anything from being insulted by men to being thrown in jail, beaten and possibly killed.

    * The woman's family. If she is from a family that is liberal when it comes to religion, than this is true, she can wear what she wants and do what she wants. Otherwise, her father/brother/husband, etc. will often dictate how to dress, whether she likes it or not. Islamic zealots tend to have a dim view of "women's rights".

Depends where. I think in some places in Europe (and even some cities in the USA), simply being naked in public is not an actual crime. You might get some stares from people and the police might give you a ticket for "causing a disturbance", but that's about it. In any case, I would be far more happy to see women naked in public than "ninjas" walking around in black burkas.

Excellent idea. If only we could do that... sigh...

Kudos to France indeed. It was about time. Remember that MOST of these women dress that way because this is what was forced upon them, not because they freely chose to. I even heard that France has a law making it illegal for anyone to force any kind of religious practices on another person, even if it is their son/daughter/wife, etc. VIVE LA FRANCE!

As for the VERY FEW women who VOLUNTARILY CHOSE to wear a burqa... well tough! You can't always do what you want. Wearing a burqa is not accepted in French society, period. There are plenty of things that I would want to do, that I can't due to the laws where I live. Sure, it would be fun to drive at 200 km/h on the highway when there's no traffic, or to own a full auto AK-47, or to open a gambling casino in my basement, but those are all banned where I live and I don't whine about it.

If the regulations in France don't suit them, in that case they are free to exercise their right to leave and go somewhere where wearing a burqa is allowed. Besides, the "Burqa wearing club" tends to contribute very little of value to French society in any case. They just cause controversy and endless debates in the government (wasting resources that could go to better things), rarely work outside of home, almost never vote or participate in society, all while collecting free $$$ from taxpayers for them to stay home and have even more kids, thus burdening the system even more.

This law is done for the existing powers to stay a little while longer. By those laws, governement hasn't started to address the issue here: 200,000 legal immigration per year, mainly from poor, badly educated people from muslim background. Wonderful!

At least in France women are not beaten to death, and treated like second class citizens.

Take some initiative? I did. I left. What do you suggest? You know France is not a dictatorship, so it's french people who is responsible for electing the same people over and over again. Seems french people enjoy massive poor uneducated musilm immigration. It's like colors and flavors preferences, there's nothing to say against that.

It seems France, Italy and even UK has started to become active in regard to criminal immigrants by incarcerating Romanians and deporting them to Romania.

Cool , I've hear the Romanian authorities just built a new jail , so there's plenty of place for the criminals to rot - there are few things worst then a jail in my homeland .
