Hi, hope you all can help. Working on a new project atm and I need to be able to quickly edit multiple pages simultaneously. For the most part it will be replacing old banners with current ones. The person I'm taking over from uses Dreamweaver which apparently (as I'm not really a WYSIWYG guy) has the ability to open a batch of files and do a find and replace on the relevant code and therefore replacing the old graphics links with the new ones, across several pages. I'm looking for a freeware program that can do the same thing. Something that has FTP built in so that I can open, edit and republish any or all of the pages I desire. Preferably I would like to be able to do so "live" as it were - i.e. not have to download them first and edit them then republish them but FTP in, open the relevant pages and edit them on the fly. I'm currently looking into a few options atm but figured I might post here first, just to see what all you wonderful ppl at DP come up with.
Html-Kit has the ability to open files from a remote server, edit, and save. But there is not any massive search and replace feature. I think something of the that ilk would cost you. I also use Aptana Studio, which has a nifty sync feature. This requires that you initially download the entire site into a local folder though, which should be no biggy initially. You can then use any freeware search and replace software on your local files.
