Im running the program right now, there are a lot of files you will need to replace, doing it manually will take forever.
This is what needs to be done, the original code is useless. Gives you a bunch of errors like before. Can be done using that .exe search program. Works perfectly after that Thanks Hobbit, Added Rep
I dont want to offend anyone... But is is really that hard to follow directions? Let alone Find and Replace?... If all else fails... Read the directions...
Some of that might be new to some people, and most of the error occurs because it was not listed in the install file, but here on DP a member gave us advice on how to fix it. Maybe someone didnt understand it, who knows, whatever it is. And hah, it isnt hard to follow directions, you can't expect everyone here to be experts at everything, even if its somethin as simple as this, to you.
Ok, homepage works fine, all the other pages are errors errors and errors. I guess Ill just start over again after drinking a lot of water and taking a long nap. O.O
Ok, I think I FINALLY have the solution the the problem. Look, as you said, the homepage worked fine, but the includes were in pointing to the root folder, and files weren't found. What I did was look at the error, and what was in bold is what I used. Try this /home/.dua/lejovit/yourprofileisgay.uni.cc/_header.php Code (markup): "lejovit" is the username, and yourprofileisgay.uni.cc, try doing that, instead of /home/put you cpanel username here/public_html/ 100% working version, I apoligize for misleading you, but I'm just trying to help. This should be the FINAL solution. Instead of uploading all files, just edit one files with the fix above to see if it works, that way you don't waste much time. I hope it works for you! In case that doesn't work, look at the errors, specially at what's in bold, and that should be the fix.
What does .dua stand for? OK this is the 8th time and I hope the last time I will have to reupload all the files, really wonder how the person who said they got this done in 5 minutes do it lol. Takes me more than 5 hours.
I tried it and that does not work, it just gave me a bunch of errors on the homepage. Maybe I did something wrong, Ill try it again EDIT:// I decided to use http://www.myurl.com/ instead of /home/.dua/lejovit/yourprofileisgay.uni.cc/ AND THAT WORKED!! Hm, that was what I did in the first place, I guess I just did something wrong somewhere. Thanks
So /home/.dua/lejovit/yourprofileisgay.uni.cc/ didn't work? Well who cares, at least you got it to work as well!
Yes at least it did, thanks. My background page isn;t working so Ill have to fix that but at least its working generally. Thanks.
Yes, I only used my URL, not the server directory and it worked nicely. As I have mine in a sub-directory I also had to edit some other files, but it worked in the end too.
It seems like I'm having the same problems that you are. Changing the long directory structure to "mydomain.com" worked like a charm for me too, but now I also can't get my backgrounds or cursor page to work. I get this error: "Unable to open http://www.******.com/graphics/cursors/animal" Have you had any luck yet?
Yes, Same problem!! Nope, I compared my files to one that works for someone else, its the same. But somehow it isn;t working on mines, so I just removed it from the site since I have spend a lot of time trying to get it to work. No luck You can see that I removed it here: www.profilecoder.com I got everything set up already.
Could I ask what host you're using? I'm using godaddy and on google I found a lot of people having php problems with them. Apparently they disabled some php commands like readdir, opendir. Looks like I may have to find a new host.
I use www.peerlesshost.com But I don't think im going to find a new host just for that, I have a lot of domains hosted with them, but oh well. It isn't the end of the world so Ill live
Well, after a bunch of googling and some hair pulling, I figured it out. I'm a php newbie, so I'll try to explain it without making myself look stupid. Remember when we changed "("/home/put you cpanel username here/public_html/_header.php")" to just "http://www.*****.com/_header.php"? It worked for some of php commands, but apparently certain functions, like the "opendir" function, don't like it. You need to find what your "absolute path" is. I found it in the help section of my host. For example, godaddy's looks like this: Not the same as the format in the Install.txt, that's why our pages weren't displaying correctly at first. Then either do a search and replace, or go in and manually and fix the offending phps. Hope this helps!
