Hello, My server is set up to send me a message when a user does certain things. The script creates a message 'from' no-reply@mydomain but has a 'reply to' from the user, sometimes the users will have a free email account, such as yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc. Sometimes, I get the follow from Spamassasin: 2.5 FREEMAIL_FORGED_REPLYTO Freemail in Reply-To, but not From Does this mean that spamassassin performed some verification with this person's email provider and determined that the email address is fake/forged?
I can answer my own question... I found out that no interaction or confirmation is performed to determine if the free email account is forged, it is only suspected by merely being a freemail account with different from and reply-to's. The 2.5 point penalty I thought was excessive, so I have lowered the penalty on spamassassin. Thanks
