I'm currently a student in a graphic design course, and I plan on freelancing for a living. I want to start now, part-time, whlie I'm at school to get my foot into the ground. I was wondering if I purcahsed an academic version of Creative Suite 2, if I could legally freelance with it? It says no commercial use... just wondering if freelancing would be considered commerical. Thanks
I can tell you one thing.. that most freelancers don't have that license It's not biggy. If you're a massive corporation that's creating some sort of designs for their products with it.. I'd suggest you get that licesense. But for a freelancer who's a student.. who's going to sue?
The RIAA and MPAA come to mind...if they can figure out a way to do it. Heck, one or both of them have already sued people who were dead!
Well neither of them would have jurisdiction over me, since I am Canadian. Also, I don't think the Recording Industry or the Motion Picture Industry would be the ones sueing for Software Piracy.
Canadians are excempt from this? Well I have nothing to worry then (not saying I don't have a license). I'm just emphasizing that the chances are rare my friend. If you do a few projects here and there (part-time) you'll be fine. It's not like you'll be making $100 000 (if you do, then I would get one )
