Moderators please feel free to move if this does not belong here (yes I did try searching). Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or seen a script that can accurately keep track of information regarding outsourced or freelance work? The idea is this, I find a project for a group of people to do on say... Craigslist. I then run over to a site like getafreelancer and hire some people to take on the task. Payment is made to the freelancer via paypal and I collect payment on the other end from the person who hired me. The script would allow the freelancer that I hire to login and check the status of the project/update status, while allowing me to login and view status of each individual freelancer's status and also what is due to who? Is there a system or script out there that can easily handle this task and is written in PHP? Thanks!
try this: quadrasolutions.com/demo/scripts/projectmanager. I am sending you the login details in personal message. Anyone else also interested, you can request the login details via personal message.
Thanks Qsol but I'm actually going to go with another system: http://products.wrconsulting.com/wrtimetracker/en/index.php
WOW, this definitely looks ALOT better. Almost took the cake until I found out about activeCollab! ding ding ding WE have a winner folks!!
I use basecamp for my project management. It's very mature, very solid and feature rich. If you're serious about being organized, I would consider it carefully.
I use a highly customized activecollab on my own private server, it's much more secure than basecamphq and lets me sleep easily at night.
I have to agree. The fact that it's open source does make it that much more appealing but for something like this I wouldn't have minded paying for it.
You don't even have the password to Quadra Solutions Project Manager so how could you even guess which one is better?? LOL
I use Basecamp HQ as well for my team. It's good but it has it's shortcomings. It's beautifully designed, well laid out, and everyone I have recommended it to seems to love it, both clients and freelancers. If you want something that is a really detailed and hardcore project management tool, then Basecamp is not the right tool. It is not robust enough to do Gantt Charts, time tracking, to-do list scheduling, billing, creating critical paths, resource allocation, and give accurate percentages for completed work. I have yet to find a hardcore project management tool that I can really work with. I used DotProject awhile back and I thought it was great, but my team did not take to it too well because it was not visually appealing (this is basecamp's advantage). I am going to look into this activeCollab though.
