Maybe you could do some kind of discounts which you could find new clients with, something like "Pay the half to the next month" or something similar, be creative here. Advertising in local magazines is always a great way to get new clients. But it has to be targeted, its useles to invest money here without knowing much about WHO your clients are and what they want. You have to do a lot of market research first.

Do you want to work with local clients, or work with clients on a global scale? If locally is the answer, business cards are a must. For international business, you're on the right track by being a member here :p

You can get it if you give them bonus of your product or some discount.
So do I , I've given for my clients discount and bonus.
so I can conclude that you have to make your clients happy and interesting.
    Thanks

Try oDesk and Elance and offer your services for a bit low price (for some time). Once people saw that you're good developer you'll get a lot of work.
    between Best of Luck :)

Try starting out on sites like oDesk and Freelancer.com. But it's very competitive out there, so you might have to be very competitive in pricing, as well. Create a portfolio that will impress, that helps a lot in getting assignments. Or like what one poster said, if you are looking to find clients locally, business cards are really a MUST and targeted advertising, as well. Word of mouth and referrals help too.

If you are targeting local clients, a cheap way to advertise would be to use mobile classifieds. Mobile classifieds are little post-its in which you can get a personalized stamp with your website and contact information, and ink the information onto the post it, and then stick them around various high traffic locations around town, and even ATM machines for some added exposure.

You can get some clients for your business using Google adwords kind of pay per click programs.

In my opinion the best way is to build your own website on which you will be offering your services. And get some targeted traffic to your site - from search engines - do some SEO.

As mentioned above, advertise your services on the freelancing sites mentioned above and the one in my signature :)

You'll need to offer great deals at first until you build a good reputation and then orders will generally flow in a lot faster. You should also make your own website if you dont have one already, possibly showcasing some of your work

Definitely post some ads on the warrior forum. Good writing is in such high demand, and if someone finds you and likes your work, they WILL stick with you. Gather some samples together and place ads here on DP, on the WF, on craigslist and on US Free Ads. Start your prices low to get clients. If you are good, they will stick around even when your prices go up.
