    hi,

when you work with freelancers and want to create a contract and need their signature...can they sign using windows paint, and copy paste the image to the contract?

because i notice some freelancers dont have a scanner so was wondering if this possible.

    thanks

The problem with any contract is whether it's worth your trouble to enforce it?
You really have to get an agreement up front - but then trust people to deliver whatever they promise.
If you can't afford to lose what you want to pay - then maybe you need to find somebody you trust to recommend a freelancer?
I always take the view that it can actually cost more trying to tie every detail up legally than it is worth (unless you are already in a big business with your own lawyers) - so you have to take a chance.
Best way is to actually talk to people and maybe get references you can talk to - or at least look at feedback for freelancers on sites such as eLance
Start with a small low cost contract then build on that.
Most lawyers start talking about their hourly rates of hundreds of $ an hour - making the law unenforceable for most people with $100 contracts

interesting idea about using windows Paint to sign a digital contract. Would seem to be as good as an ink signature. But an email works just as good.
