we just had a freelance site that went live...we setup adwords and have been receiving clicks to the site but no sign ups as of yet.... we are not charging any listing or commission fees but since there is no one signed up I feel it makes the site unattractive.... anyone have any suggestions for kick starting the site? ----the site is on my sig
Or make a drawing each month, for the first 3-6 months, between those that create quality listings. The price could be something like an iPod Mini. Or offer a t-shirt with your logo and site address to the first 10-100 who create a listing.
the startup is usually the most difficult ones. What type of freelance are u offering? Y not u try this, if let's say u are targeting bringing website owners and writers together, instead of getting them into ur site and ask them to sign up, you can pretend to be a writer and help the owners to write articles while u actually find the writers to write for them. Then after a while, once u have a customer base, u can just transfer it to ur website. Right now, your website is so new that they don't have any incentive to sign up and waste their time there. they would go more popular sites like elance, or rent a coder.
