Freehostplace.com free web hosting site for sale

I have set up a free hosting site. I don't have the time to promote it properly right now so if I can sell it for enough to cover my expenses I will.

It runs on the Layered panel script. I bought the managed package and they will manage it for you for 4.5 more months. The license is included. This alone was $250.

It runs right now on a dedicated server which is $179 a month. You can continue on this, or LP can transfer it to another server for you. The server is paid for until 8/9/07.

I only have 58 members right now, but I have done no promotion other than a few signature links and being listed on one or two free sites.

You can add adsense or any other ads to the free users pages to make money and some users will upgrade and you can make money.

I forgot to mention that it is registered at godaddy so there is a free push.

Also, I made a slight mistake. The next billing date on the server is 8/3/07. The server is with Softlayer.

 

Do you have any pics of that panel or demo because I never heard of it before or saw it.

The admin panel has things like stats, users, trouble tickets, etc. You can enable ads per user, set the max space, limits etc.

The user panel has built in installation scripts, stats, mysql, etc.

you can log into www.freehostplace.com with the l/p of tester/tester to see the user panel.

Sorry, completely missed that. Do you spend anything on advertising and promotion for this website? Or is it predominantly organic traffic.

 

My recomendation to get 1000's of signups, submit to free-webhosts.com.

You could sell for at least 12k after that on sitepoint, Im giving you a very good idea. Keep it!

 

i emailed hostgator and they eventually got back to me saying that your affiliate ID is banned, is that true? and is it because of this site as i was interested in buying

 

My hostgator account was banned after I put the site up for sale.

They said it was for:
"Excessive fraudulent/cancelled transactions
using the affiliate system fraudulently and/or against our Affiliates Terms of Service"

But they will not respond and give me more details.

I know it cant be this site because if you search for free host sites, you will see that almost 90% of them make money by offering an upgrade through HG.

I have (had) the HG banner up on a bunch of sites.

When I first got HG, I did sign up for HG through my own HG link. Thats probably what did it.

There are plenty of other affiliate hosting comapnies besides hc as well. You can also put ads on the pages and forget HG all together.

And keep in mind, only my HG id has been banned, not the site and in the control panel it is simple to add your ID.

I have not spent a dime on advertising. I have sent it to a few free sites listed on the bottom of the page and some have listed me and some take a while to get around to it.

 

I just got word back from hostgator. The reason they banned me is that I signed up for my own account under my affiliate program.

I guess that wasn't my best idea....
