I don't have time to grow and improve my deep link directory, so I've decided to sell it.

    Site: www.FreeDeepLinks.com

PR: The site is showing PR3 for me today (although I could swear it said PR2 a day or two ago when I asked for appraisals - just trying to be up front so you know it might be fluctuating or something - I can't guarantee the higher PR is right at the moment).

SERPs: The site is currently ranked for the following keywords (no idea how often they're searched for anymore, as I haven't attempted to optimize anything since probably '06 when the deep link directories were newer).

    free deep links - #1
free deep link directory - #1
deep link article directory - #1 (sure this one isn't searched for though)
    deep link directory - #5
deep link web directory - #11
deep link web directories - #30
    deep link directories - #7

History: To the best of my knowledge, this was the first deep link directory of its kind, launched in the Fall of '06. It's a deep link article directory, only linking directly to articles and similar resources (like business templates) on the Web - basically categorizing articles across the Web, to serve as a real resource for visitors and not just a backlink source (so they could avoid junk search engine results when looking for articles to research). I launched it when I was an editor for the Suite101 network, so a lot of the traffic was always type-in from writers there who were submitting their articles for backlinks. I haven't looked at the submissions in a while, so I don't know how heavily they still use it.

Descriptions should all be pretty much unique - either I wrote them, they were added by someone I hired, or contributed by the article owner. If the buyer chooses to keep the directory as-is, there's one permanent featured listing (at $24.99) that would need to remain. All others can be deleted. If the buyer decides not to keep the directory, to re-use the domain elsewhere, I ask that they inform me, so I can refund that sponsored link holder. The domain would be ideal for the directory as-is, or as a general free deep link directory or even a paid directory just offering free deep links as a bonus for buyers. It's obviously keyword-rich and highly targeted for what it is.

Income: Assume no income on the site anymore, as I haven't been updating it (approving submissions) for quite some time, or promoting it in any way. The amount it's earning now is miniscule at best (like a dollar or two per month), but most of the value on this one is for the domain itself and traffic.

Stats: Here are the stats for the last three months (screenshots attached, including all 2007 stats).

    December - 1412 uniques / 10,059 pageviews
    January - 1804 uniques / 16,138 pageviews
    February - 1891 uniques / 23, 805 pageviews

Again, this is with no promoting or recent updates. A lot of people do try to spam the directory with homepage links (not allowed with my setup, but you can certainly change that). Because it currently targets individual articles, you'll also often have people submit large numbers of articles at once when they realize they can (I don't limit them as long as they're unique articles and follow the rules - again, you can certainly change that).

Bids: I'm going to auction the site off, and the end date is Friday, March 7th at 10pm Eastern Time (GMT -5), assuming the private reserve price has been met. I'm not setting a BIN price.

    Starting bid: $100
    Increments: $25

Payments are via Paypal only (or credit card via Paypal). No other options are available. Sorry.

If the reserve price isn't met before the close of the auction, this auction will simply be closed and the site won't be sold. At that point, I will likely attempt to sell the site elsewhere, or simply sell the domain without the content.

Please note that I've never transferred a directory to a new owner before, so the buyer will have to bear with me a bit (I'll be backing up the files and database today to have them ready to transfer, after I clear up the hoards of links pending approval). The directory is run on PHPLD2, using a free template that I made some simple modifications to, so you don't need anything special on that front.

The domain is registered with Godaddy, and expires on September 9, 2008. There's a free push to another Godaddy account.

Like I said, I haven't sold a directory before, so if you have questions I didn't think to address here, don't hesitate to ask me. (I won't be revealing the reserve price until possibly the last day of the auction, unless it's met - then I'll post that the reserve was met and the auction will definitely close on Friday with a winning bidder.)

I'm going to name a BIN, as it's the last day for this sale.

    The BIN is $1000.

There is a lower reserve (private), so bids are still welcome through tonight. If the reserve is met, the site will sell for the highest bid above that reserve point.

If it doesn't sell, I'll be listing the domain alone for sale probably on Monday here at DP. (and btw, several days later, the PR does seem to be holding steady at 3, so I'm not sure where or why I got "2" from when asking for appraisals previously).
