I almost suggested giving it a new name yesterday. I am glad I did'nt Everytime I come accross 'FreeBS' I chuckle and shake my head... I am amazed at how far Noppid has improved this code in just a couple of months ! I have a hard time deciding who rocks more Noppid or FreeBS. In the last two months Noppid has brought us FreeBS and really push Carp into the forefront. The thread that started off FreeBS is still fresh in my mind.
In additional to eating fish with No feelings. Noppid loves to beat down people with Carp when they program RSS in an inferior manner. Everything Noppid says about what Carp can do is true. I am using it.
I'm not going to revisit that event. You lose 3 weeks of effort and get back to me on how ya feel. I take full credit for what I said there. Some bitch and some do something about it I guess. Don't ever let it be said I won't put up when I run my mouth.
For some reason, Froogle has picked up one of my listings. Check this out: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?h...horter+2003&btnG=Search+Froogle&sa=N&start=10 I'm the 13th listing (as of this writing).
books index 99002 total books available in this index. Something has really run up those numbers. FYI, that's a 35 MB DB. I'm gonna dump it now and start from scratch.
Anyone have thoughts or rules of thumb for the best time to dump and start over? Or, the pros/cons of doing it? My largest FreeBS is 47,000+ and others are at 15,000+-. I'm actually getting a few bucks a day from book sales and don't want mess that up. I do get a little concerned about the loss of relevancy as it drifts from the original keyword-based results. Any thoughts? Thanks
Run p3.php on your keyword, any stale books will be removed. You can keep the rest. If the DB was empty, indexed URLs would still work, but the index would be bare.
Last month I set up a FREEBS book shop on a new domain, vBookShop.com I checked Google this morning and 99% of the pages are only showing the URL and "similar pages". Any ideas on why?
It looks like they are being viewed as duplicate. Do they all have the same description or Title? If not do you have a block of text near the top that is the same on every page (from the spiders point of view) I had this same issue with my Article site but once I made sure the items above were different, all the pages came back.
Any idea why I'd be getting this? Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /var/www/html/sports_books/includes/AmazonSearch.php on line 113 Store is at www.clantt.com/sports_books
Have you perhaps upgraded and only replaced the top level php files and not the includes folder files?
I just replaced the includes folder files and get that same error (I actually had that error on line 102 or 103 before).
