One percent sales from vitually nothing is something though! Remember, revenue was never intened, the fact there is any at all is amazing to me! I hope it grows for all of us.
I have over 21000 books in my store. Google has only indexed about 18 of them, so I have a long way to go. Yahoo eats my site up, though.
Oh, I've got PLENTY of links pointed to it. Lots of external PR5s, a PR5 linked from the home page, internal non-forum links, etc. I'm expecting a good indexing within the next couple of weeks.
Loaded my first site last night. It was a pleasure to have it go so smoothly. Finally there is something tangible to put on these tiny niche domins I have been collecting. For example, at www.GoofusGlass.com it will be a big improvement over the single book with the missing photo I have there now If I want to feature books from more than one search term would I create two databases on the same server, or is there a better way?
That is one option. The other is set a default keyword in the config.php and then after running p3.php with the defaults, run it again with a new keyword override.
Thanks. I have 100+ of these little domains and a five day weekend that starts at 5:15 PM MDT this afternoon. This is going to be a really fun weekend!
20 books sold, $10 in revenue. Also went up from 18 pages indexed to 99. My site seems to be on some sort of 10 days cycle in google where the cache dates and indexed pages all update every 10 or so days.
Good for you! I'd expect the cache rate to improve with traffic. I sold more books too. It's amazing!
Well, traffic is about 2000 uniques a day (hit 2500 yesterday). About HALF that is coming from yahoo queries for the books. Most of the books are top 5 in yahoo with no optimization on a per title basis. Just want to give you a thumbs up since the store is working really well for me. I now check my amazon associates account daily to see the books sold and revenue increasing. Given a month, this could easily add about 100-200 a month to revenue (perhaps more).
Thank you very much. I followed suggestions and used common sense. I never imagined this would work out so well in it's youth.
Yahoo seems to love my site. I'm not quite sure why, but I'll take it! How long has your store(s) been up?
I am uploading version 1.11 to all my sites right now. This includes an important amazon upgrade. This release also includes a new set of links you can add to your pages called our picks. These are five random books that get listed adding more inbound links to the pages. There is also an experimental country code override. This is a beta feature and I have no clue if it works as desired yet. Look for the release in about an hour or so.
FREEBS - Free Book Store 1.11 is posted for download. As was pointed out, registration is required to get the file now. This is because amazon expects me to update this software at their request and you guys need to know about it. Thank you.
Umm my fishing one has been up since the frist release. Its on a subdomain and gets a little traffic from there (4,610 pages index), Yahoo seems to be spiders the site awesome but only has one page indexed on it. I set up a few more books stores so I'll see if they have better luck.
