Hey, I'm interested in Badges, and I actually have a site that will grow to big popularity in about ~1year, but probably sooner. interest? just think of Badges like those Frank kern style design. Not exactly web2.0, but it may even be easier. In the middle of the Badges, you will have the head/face of albert Einstein. Mail back if you are interest.

btw, here is the alpha version of my site: www.mcquadr.at , just think of the release version like of alltop(dot)com , but with more functions, better usability, better navigation, and better lookinfg, and a bit smaller with killer fonctions. I will have set a contest here for the header but for, now, I've not got enough post.

Web 2.0 is dead, the presence of outdated and irrelevant 'trend' logos will look poorly on a designer who features them in their portfolio.

@Melvinng: web 2.0 did *not* by any means *just* start, web 2.0 is here today, and has been here for years, and web 3.0, which has been worked on since as early as 2003 is finally starting to realize on the horizon - API's allowing programs and web services to interact with user-control or the use of websites, inter-service communication (like using Facebook to log into and comment on other sites) and apps like Adobe Air are web 3.0 and they are just starting finally now after 5 years of development.

Now, web 2.0 isn't a visual style, it's a theory about human interaction that basically says web 1.0 is users interacting with media (you read a website written by one person.). Web 2.0 now gives you the ability to interact with other humans also reading the same thing (you can comment on the article and read other peoples comments, you can upload your own content to the site like youtube)

Web 2.0 is *not* a visual style. What is often mistakingly referred to as 'web 2.0 style' by amateurs and non-designers, is actually just regular design trends that change at the normal pace, but because of the massive influx of website created during one specific time, there is a higher number of these logos still out there.

Go for a current and timeless logo - 'web 2.0' looks dated now, it's like me saying: Hey everybody, line up for a logo from 2004! come get yours today for free! that's right, I'll make it look like you're trying to be trendy, but 5 years out of touch! What a deal!

So nobody who will be looking at your portfolio will desire to hire somebody who can only show that they are half a decade behind in their trends - they want people who either create good and timeless designs, or as up on the current trends.

Seriously, before you spend more time from your life that you can never regain, ask yourself if there's a better way to spend it - finding your own personal styles that you're good at, keeping track of current trends a little better - it would be sad for talent to be wasted on misguided pursuits.
