Hi We have build a website to offer free tools and free codes for free to the visitors- http://free-web-tools.com. Really we need your review about different parts of my site. In this topic we need your advises about my first tool which offers a custom welcome screen or welcome message. I don't want to describe it here anymore because the site must do it! Please see: http://free-web-tools.com/welcome-screen
It's horrible. Not the idea, and the design isn't the worst I've seen, but the content is... abysmally bad. First of, who the hell needs a "welcome page" that isn't already covered by whatever CMS or webdesign company you're using? As for the sub-items under "codes" it's a mish-mash of bad HTML and javascript, and the code provided doesn't help new users (who might actually need help with these things) understand how to do things right. For instance, you have, under codes a "highlight certain links" - yes, this is not HTML (which it's filed under) - it's CSS - and the code provided is horribly bad (using inline CSS, instead of just applying a class and then styling it in the stylesheet). Also, the code provided includes a javascript, with absolutely no purpose. Also, when I click on something, I get the page with a huge picture saying HTML or in the case of the link above "Welcome Screen" - why? The images have a small resolution, hence look blurry, and they serve no purpose - move the actual content up instead. Sorry, but start over.
