Hi friends, Do anybody know how long is the DMOZ approval time? I post a link 3 years back but with no luck.
Well it depends on your site, site's domain age, pages, backlinks and most of all relevant content and you have posted the site in relevant category. So it wil take time to approve and the time is nor fixed.
If you take the trouble to read the stickie at the top or read other posts on here where threads just like yours are posted almost every week, then you would have known it can take from one week to several years and the quality or otherwise of your site will speed that time up not at all. That is except that non guideline compliant sites never get listed and guideline compliant sites have to wait until an editor volunteers to use their spare time to work in an area, subject to their limits, and use the suggestions pool as one of their resources.
If it has been rejected it is very unlikely unless the site has been completely changed that it will be listed. If it is a listable site three years is a short time in DMOZ to wait, some wait much longer.
From the looks of this thread, it really does strengthen the meaning SUBMIT & FORGET, as well as the FORGET 2 SUBMIT. If three years is a "short time"" to wait, why on earth would ANYONE bother... as it's clear with times like that the editors certainly are not bothering. Helping the end user? HA, not even close! By rights, if a site has to wait three years to even be looked at, it's the same as not even being listed... then again, look at the aged content all over the ODP, I guess that really does hold water. Most of it's at least three years out of date, lol.
