Try submitting some articles to article directories...

Also try and offer something that will atract natural links (comic, tool, etc)

Then there is also the option of buying links ;)

google 'your niche' links and offer link-exchanges to the webmasters that come up. Or even just suggest that they look at your site - they may not even need you to link to them, though I would advise linking to the quality ones you come across that way.

Find related sites and send them a link request.
Don't aim PR5+ sites if your site has low ranking. Keep them for later.

I think the best way is to find the link option of the dp itself.

You can submit sites to directories, articles to article directories with your link in the author bio or you can use the below to find relevant link partners:

"Add a link" + "your keywords"
"add a site" + "your keywords"
"add url" + + "your keywords"
"submit a link" + "your keywords"
"submit a site" + "your keywords"
    "your keywords" add sites
    "your keywords" add sites
    "your keywords" links

Still works ok for me. and its quiet good. Though i gonna try exchanging links on DP now.

I go to DMOZ, find the category my site would fall into and email each one, takes time but most of the sites in DMOZ have a decent PR.

I've only done this once and it took way to much time, but if you have the time and dont mind I would try it.

Although it is time consuming, I think this is the best way of exchanging links.

Submit your articles at ezinearticles and Isnare.com. You can get one way backlinks by this way.
