FREE unlimited and automated google sitemap generator

After looking about for a while and trying various options i found a FREE google sitemap generator with all sorts of great time saving features, and most importantly its unlimited so no silly 500page restrictions, great for those with larger sites!

I have been testing it on a couple of my sites since early betas and its now pretty polished, it will auto update your sitemap daily adding your new pages and it will even email you to confirm its updated with a page count, check it out:

hey, this seems interesting, but is it only for phpbb3 forums? cos the that words are in the url

 

All it does is scan your root directory for files. Not a lot of use if you have files in other directories or your site is dynamic.

Good for basic sites though.

 

well i got plenty of basic sites.. and i was looking forward to auto sitemap updater..

I have a couple of sites around 800-1000pages, and this works great, no limitations, i can just add new content as i see fit and it will pick up the new pages within 24hrs and add them automatically to the sitemap, ideal for my requirements.

 

I use xml-sitemaps.com licensed version for unlimited pages. it goes 0 depths which means unlimited depth of the site/folders.

its not as expensive as someone can't pay. its just 20 bucks.

I really enojoy using it.

If someone still don't have it, I can create their sitemap for their large sites and send the sitemap. its just for a help. PM me if anyone wants me to create sitemap for them.

Ok installed this and LOVE the simplicity of it.

A few things were unclear and I posted on the support forum here
Received a prompt response which only had to be admired.

Basti it works with any site my own doesn't have a phpbb at all. It's a great labour saving time saving php script that only requires your hosting is php enabled, minimum fuss install simply upload the smap php script file to the same dir as your index page and create one folder called scache and follow 3 very basic prompts.

Fazamania, its most likely you need to change the chmod permission on the scache folder, some hosts need a change, others dont, try setting it to 777. sibs123: Vladd44 the developer is currently working on a version suitable for phpbb3 forums, during this he will look to adapt this for WP use. Keep an eye on his site for updates and new versions.

UPDATE - i spoke to the developer yesterday, he is planning a version for phpbb3 and after that a Wordpress version, i will post when we see some movement on this.

http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ is good but very limited, only 500 URL will be followed. Not enough in most cases.

Try http://www.webrickco.com/buildsitemap.php for site until 10000 links and http://www.sitemapbuilder.net (desktop version) for unlimited. They are both free.

 

there is desktop software called Gsitecrawler
try to search about it its very good for unlimited sitemap and many fantastic things about it

 

Yes I use Gsitecrawler and find it good to use. Also you can setup individual site profiles with different settings for each so its easy to recreate the sitemaps for each site when required without having to remember what files/directories you need to include/exclude for each site.

 

As an update to this thread, a sitemap generator for phpbb3 will be released shortly, with a version for phpbb2 and wordpress following soon.

I will post when the scripts have finished testing.
