As a new university student, I can start my own blog (.edu) on their servers, thus giving me a pretty valuable site for free.. I think I may start selling blog posts..and I'm wondering what category i should choose? I'll be listed in a directory with other blogs... I'm thinking business, tech, or internet categories would sell alot of links on DP. But a general category would give me a larger customer base...so should I focus on internet biz topics or just go general?
I think you should do a blog about blogs and their authors, that way you can spotlight different subject matter, and emphasize what is hope d to be accomplished with each blog in the words of it's publishers. It's always interesting to me, especially since we are in such an early stage of internet development, what people's agenda is, and what their true motivation is given this incredible opportunity, that is open to just about everyone, to participate and have a voice for the world to see. For instance: *For some people they see an opportunity to make money, and it's only about the money. *Some people still hold an idealization of what blogging is supposed to be for and hold it's young tradition precious. *Some have no clue and think it's an easy buck. *Some see an opportunity to put into practice a business model that they would otherwise not have the chance. There are 100 million blogs with 100 million stories and motivations. Just a thought.
very interesting idea... i'll definitely consider it, but I'm looking at making the most $ out of selling links..not necessarily having a popular blog. It's all about the money in this blog's purpose I'm thinking making a blog about monetizing blogs, since after browsing through the other uni blogs, nobody is monetizing their PR6 pages
