Hi all, I just joined the forum and wanted to ask a question. I have recently started a free traffic website which requires webmasters to - Place the widget provided on their website - Submit their posts, articles, images, videos (has to be link) That's it. Now I have been sending mails to webmasters (about 150 website owners) haven't seen much of a response. I checked the analytics and not many people are clicking on the link provided!! Looks like most of them are not even ready the mail...probably the subject needs to be catchy... Any how, I wanted a bit of a brainstorming with some of your guys (who are quite intelligent I must say ) and see what I can do. I don't want to post a link and be penalized for spamming, so if you want to take a look at the site, just go to google and type 'bestoti'. BTW, I haven't done any SEO yet. I will start when the site really starts getting some submitters. Thanks A LOT (I have posted on other forums as well to get as many answers as possible)
Maybe because your site does``nt look very appealing and the fact that sites like your dont really work in sending traffic
Could you please give me some constructive criticism? If it does not look appealing, how can I make it look appealing? I have another website http://www.top20lists.com and I am affiliated with such sites i.e. 2leep, mgid and wahoha and 40% of my traffic comes from them. You said, it doesn't look appealing - were you referring to the design or the concept?
The concept looks good. But i think the website looks too crammed. Maybe you could lighten it up abit. Also make sure the webmasters submit their primary e-mails. But with so much spamming going around, you gotta let them trust you. If you need any other help do feel free to PM me.
That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot . I'll work on lightening the website. I'll see if I can do something about the cramming. How would you suggest I go about the promotion? The best way that I thought of was e-mailing webmasters....but didn't get a lot of response. Would you suggest something else?
Hi, You might have technical problems here as well. Do you track the open rates of your emails? From what address do you send these emails? You should not send it from something like info(at)bestoti(dot)com by any means; it would got your whole domain banned for emailing for a while. It is also possible that your emails are already landing in SPAM / Bulk directories; did you get back any complains to the server you are sending these mails from?
I am using a gmail address and no...I did not receive any message from any servers. I was thinking of now using my e-mail address from my other website which is quite well established top20lists.com. Sending a mail saying something like.. "Hope all is well at your end. We at Top20Lists are starting a new free traffic service. If you would like to get involved, please let us. Regards" Something along those lines. I should actually start commenting on blogs first...shouldn't I...build a rapport and then ask them so join. BTW...what do you think of the website and concept overall...?
