FREE Traffic Strategies That Work

Hey guys,

I've been getting tons of PM's lately with all sorts of
issues and questions regarding Clickbank particularly
from people that are obviously having a hard time to
either get their first sale and some of them wanting
to increase their monthly revenue. I don't personally
have the time to privately coach people so I though
I'd bring this to the forums ..

There's basically two ways to advertise/sell an affiliate
product, if you're on a tight budget then I'm sure
you wouldn't start buying your traffic so lets have a
look at how you can start generating great amounts
of traffic and sales without spending a dime.

(I hear this a lot -- FREE traffic, it's not actually
free whilst you still have to spend your time which
is money) but you can start off generating a nice
monthly income with $0.

Here's some strategies that I've personally used
and got amazing results over the past two years
or so. Again, consistency is the key, you should
never give up on one strategy right away ..

There are 100,000 affiliates in Clickbank alone so imagine
how much competition there is in pretty much all niches,
Giving up will only give satisfaction to the other affiliates that
are continuously growing their business ...

1) Youtube Videos (Driving avalanches of traffic
from youtube is not a secret anymore, but still
I don't see many people implementing this tactic)

People love videos and sometimes video marketing
is more effective than article marketing. (This is
probably one technique that's generating most of
my sales as an affiliate).

If you can manage to upload 10 videos daily
related to your niche you'll be able to start
seeing some nice profits in less than 30 days.

You have roughly 300 videos at the end of each month
all lined up and sending traffic your way for months and
years to come.

You can make you own videos (recommended).
They can be sideshows, reviews or anything that
is related the product that you're promoting.

Use the description area of the video to link the
video to your landing page and watermark your
video from start to finish. (choose a domain name
that's easy to remember)

TIP! There a lot more video sites other that Youtube
that you can take advantage of. See http://www.tubemogul.com/

2) Classified Ads. These sites are mostly free to
use and they can drive a nice amount of targeted
traffic to your landing pages. (You can either publish
you own ads or articles)

3) Answer Sites (Everyone has heard about
Yahoo Answers and yes they've been getting
very strict lately due to the large number of
spammers).

Use this service wisely and add some value
to your answers. You will not get banned
if you're going to provide quality/valuable
answers, and always link your web site in
the resource section, not in the body of
the answer.

You'll need to build your profile first (must be
level 2 to be able to post live URL's) so slowly
build your profile to level 2 by answering/adding
some value to the community. You answers
should be 3/4 sentences long, always check
your spelling and grammar.

A poor/low quality answer will never get too
much attention. If you're not able to do it
yourself properly, you'll be better off hiring someone
else or not doing it at all because you will risk getting
banned and completely wasting your time.

4) SEO. There's been a lot of debates on the
forums on Search Engine Optimization, however
in reality it's a no-brainer.

Search engine optimization is probably the best
way to get targeted traffic to your web site but
how can you get your web site to rank for a few
popular keywords in your niche?

Once you manage to rank a certain web site for
a popular terms you shouldn't stop building link
right away, SEO is an on-going process that
takes time. It's recommended to build your links
slowly, especially if your domain is fairly new.
You want to avoid getting penalized by the search
engines, therefore take your time to build
quality/high PR/ relevant links.

100 links from relevant web sites will be worth a lot
more than 1000 links from unrelated forums for example.

(you can find these on google/ exchange links with
other webmasters that have sites related to yours etc)

Do you make "how-to" videos or do you just throw up informational videos or what? Are there people in your videos or mainly slide shows?

Usually it's best to hire some to review a product for you / Basically make some testimonials but you can use slide shows as well.

Or you can download videos from youtube related to your niche, watermark them and re-upload them. (simple as that)

Good advice here, I've done a lot with Yahoo answers, but usually don't get much out of it and it can be a tedious routine searching for open questions to answer. I've also done one promotional video for a product which gets me some traffic. I hope to look more into video marketing soon.

 

Good informative advice. I use all the marketing strategies you mention, but I note you don't mention
blogs/hubs. I prefer hubpages because you not only write your article but it gives you opportunity to
display a link to your clickbank program. So for example say you write an article on 'weight loss' you can
place a link to any of the numerous weight loss clickbank sites.

Yahoo Answers is a tedious process, but if done right (providing valuable answers) can bring you 2-3 sales a day easily.

Choose more than one niche, and answer questions daily (don't forget to get a domain usually a .com will do best for each niche that you're targeting) I found the weight loss, relationships and business sections the most profitable.

If you don't have the time hire some decent posters, it's well worth the money.

I use social bookmarking, pinging beside SEO, youtube. But I haven't used Yahoo answers yet. I think I'll give a try for that

You should start Yahoo answers as well as you're leaving some money on the table (it should be just part of your campaigns) if you're looking for free traffic, do not put all your eggs in one basket and use Yahoo Answers as you main strategy.

I'll just give an example with one of my sites -- I was testing out Yahoo answers on two different landing pages, won't name the niche...

And used tracking ID's to see where the sales were coming from. Out of 30 answers (all quality answers) I've managed to pull a profit of $112.30.

I guess that's the most important part, and obviously that's the main reason I've started this thread..

People should take action instead of wasting their time reading theory (ebooks) that will drive them nowhere but end up even more frustrated.

Thanks! Great advice and some nice alternatives to article marketing. So many people swear that article marketing works, but it never did anything for me. I wrote my fingers to the bone, did everything according to the book and came away with one sale from maybe a few hundred hours of work. I'm a freelance writer by trade, so I don't think the articles were poorly written and I really didn't have the time to put in another few hundred hours. I went to PPC and had success...so I didn't budge from there.

Yahoo Answers works nicely, too. Search engines love it and if you can get a "Best Answer" designation, you instantly get some credibility for your sales page.

 

You'll need to write convincing articles - "Copy" that actually sells.

Simple / Plain Articles will not work, period.

Have a look at a certain niche and what type of articles other people are submitting.

Analyze the elements in each article / The resource box / Titles and everything else that you'll need to adapt to your articles in order to make them work. Again, consistency and quality are the two basic elements in article marketing. (If you're not able to submit at least 5 articles a day you won't get very far)
