Hi, I've just installed a contact inviter script to my website which you can get from here: openinviter.com It allows users to login and import their contact list and then send them emails about your website. Link on my site: http://www.laughandjoke.com/invite/example.php Would some of you guys be kind enough to test it out, and send a few emails from it I know it sounds a bit cheeky, but I want to figure out in which service providers does it go into the junk folder, some guys have reported hotmail/live sends the emails to junk. is there any others? Thanks for your time, and give it a go on your own website.
I think before you get anyone to try it out, you need to assure and guarantee that there's no shady ish going on. No password saving, etc. I know a similar program that spams user's emails after you use it.....
bluddy hell ! so my website users wont be using it either. hmm good point u've mentioned. so how can you convince people to use something like this? Or am I just better off with a simple php script where people type in a few email addresses? Thanks for your input PS: I'm giving 2 options to my users anyway, link in signature
I have changed the contact inviter page, have a look. http://www.laughandjoke.com/openinvite.php Thanks
I would say firstly, you should make an anti-spam statement on the page. Then add it to the script that everyone downloads "We never save your emails & passwords, you're message is sent & deleted immediately using our "xyz" technology". - Something along those lines. The ability to invite is more useful than typing in addresses, so you should keep that for sure. Just make sure it works with all email providers. I do use this type of script, but most of them never work with some emails, so I'd be interested in your if it works well. Question: Why give it away for free. What if it needs upgrading to fix problems etc? How do you earn from it?
lol its not my script, its http://openinviter.com/...... im not that clever thanks for the anti spam idea !
