Hi everyone, I am in the process of completing my first pass of high quality sites for the the www.Links.com blog/directory, and would like to invite anyone that has a high quality/high value site or blog to submit their site for recognition on this site. Links.com currently has about 600 new visitors each day, and this is growing, so it is a good site to get some additional visibility for your site/blog. All sites are reviewed for content and usability. There is never any fee for being covered by our blog/directory. Only the best are put in our Best of Best categories. If you have an informative site/blog that is in the formative stage, we do reserve spots in our Site and Blog of the Day categories. It helps to have obtained some traction. In this manner we can verify that the site is usable, without bugs, and providing the service that it is intended to provide. If you believe you have a site that has excellent information, we would be very interested in featuring it. Looking forward to hearing from you and have a very Happy and Properous New Year. Rich
Okay, let me go ahead and get this out of the way... where the crap did you get this juicy domain from?
Hi, Always had it, though it has suffered from very shameful neglect. My attention over the years has been elsewhere, but we are working on doing a good job now. We are in the development stage, but we believe that a site that promotes high quality and gives the opportunity for high quality sites and blogs to be visible for free, will get some traction. It exists precisely to answer the question of how to get visibility for free. Our answer is basically build an informative site, and we will give you some very high visibility. I hope this idea has merit. Rich
Hey Rich, Indeedy, that is a nice idea - Just one question... is your site only for content driven sites or will you review ecommerce/shopping sites as well? Good luck with your site... I have a good feeling about this one... I see big things in your future.
Our site will feature any site that has unique, differentiated content. For example, we featured farecast.com, since it has a feature that will help visitors determine the best time of year to purchase tickets based upon airline traveling patterns. Of course, we have no way of knowing how good this feature actually behaves in real-life. We depend upon readership response to validate our picks. But this something new, and it differentiates it from other travel reservation systems. We are looking for sites that "think out of the box" or bring something new, that deserves visibility. In fact, we would like that to happen to our site, as it it evolves. So, if you think you have something special, let us know. We promise to give it visibility. We do not request or require any type of reciprocation. We hope the idea stands on its own. However, we do appreciate it if site owners, who believe this is an idea that should be promoted, promote the idea within their own venue. Thanks for the encouragement. We are working hard here to build a site that plays a very special role in the future development of the Web. Best, Rich
Hi, Thanks for recommending this site. So that you are assured that your site is reviewed by the appropriate moderator (my son in this case, who is unfortunately more into games than college study), it would be helpful if you go to www.links.com, and use the Recommend a Site table to submit your site. We do appreciate this, and it does assure you that your site will be reviewed. Thanks. Rich
Cool, I did that, and I gave ya guys a DIGG! If you need any help with Links.com I'd love to help out with minor stuff .. it looks like it might turn out to be really cool. : ) Some design suggestions: make the middle column a little wider, maybe 60px or 10% wider (whichever u use), and maybe knock up the font size one notch!
Hi, Thanks for the Digg and the suggestion. We are in the process of upgrading the design, so all suggestions are welcome. Rich
I think with the domain Links.com, you have alot of potential .. what about an co-op advertising advice/discussion revenue sharing forum behind it? Then you'd also have a constant stream of submissions, and have a prime crop to pick educated people to also review and approve websites for your Best of the Best category, even have a userbase to cast votes and provide a popular rating as opposed to an objective rating!
Thanks for your suggestions. They all have lots of merit. Right now we are adding slowly, so please be patient as we develop this site. There are lots of logistics that we need to think through, but I like all of your ideas. Actually, today we were discussing how to recruit reviewers and including some sort of voting system that will give us reliable feedback on any selections. If there are others, such as yourself, who believe that this type of site has value, we will invest the necessary time and energy into it. Thanks for your feedback. Rich
Hi everyone, One important comment. We do need to verify all links before we allow them to be published on our site. If your site has received some traction, this verification process is faster. We are still working on the logistics. We will review all sites, as procedures are put in place. Thank you. Rich
i can't post comment, the spam filter block my comment can i recommend http://www.blueseo.com , it is a Philippine weblog on search engine optimization (SEO), SEO tips, blogs, writing and web development. Thanks, eli
Hi, Thanks for the submission. We will be reviewing all of the submissions. One of the logistical issues we are tackling (among many) is how to ensure that all sites on the blog are trusted sites. For the time being, this may delay the posting of many good sites that are still in the formative stages. Thanks again for the submission. Regards, Rich
Hi Rich - May I suggest http://www.dumagueteinfo.com - its a forum and website about Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental in the Philippines. Great domain, you have a huge potential there. Good luck on the project.
