I need some celebrity photo's for a website - is there a free source place somewhere? Google is not being helpful Am trying to throw some photo's on a site and am a little stuck. Anything anyone?
I've never heard of a free celeb photo gallery but here I havent delved in but depending on your search phrase you used in google. I'm seeing some sites that might be useful http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=royalty+free+celebrity+photos&meta=
hmmm, well - that didn't turn anything up either. Does anyone know of a source that is cheap? Like, you can buy them - but not for $100 a pic?
Yeah, I ended up getting some good ones from someone on dp Don't remember where though - just do a search for celebrity - and you'll find them.
Yeah, I think this guy has collected them from places where the photographer was not listed or something. I don't get it, but he said it's fine.
If I'm not wrong, most celebrities' pictures are not copyrights reserved, unless you're going to use it for commercial use then you'd be charged, I guess. If you are only using it to do a review of the celeb, a fan site for a celeb or probably for a layout, I guess it's a no-problem.
You can use them and don't be afraid - they are not copyright protected, unless you use them for commercial purposes.
Every picture is COPYRIGHTED!!! If you open the pics in a real image program like picassa you can see the exif data with the date and time and other info. Every site that uses public domain pics puts a disclaimer on the bottom that they were obtained from the public domain and will remove them asap if copyright holder wants that. There are 1000000000000000 sites using the pics and there is no way they can find all there pics so really your safe, but they are copyrighted by the person who took them.
Every picture is copyrighted, however, you can be sued for the use of a picture if you use it for commercial purposes. Of course, a disclaimer showing where the pics are taken from is obligatory for any ethical person.
you can be sued by the copyright holder anytime, commercial or non-commercial unless they give permission. its not obligatory in anyway!! its just usually there to show there wasnt intent to infringe. to file siut is very expensive so very unlikely. all you will get is letter to remove.
your so wrong. if you dont have a license to use the pics you are infringing. if you take from online and use its illegal!
OK, guys, let's stop right here. Of course I value a person's copyright and indeed, I've never used any other person's photos so far without a written permission. So I think that a stop of this useless argument is needed now - no need to spoil the thread anymore. Obviously we speak different languages.
Every photo has a copyright, unless otherwise stated. Just because a photo does not have a license attached, or give someone credit for it on a website - does not make it okay to use. The only way you can use a picture is a) it's free to use and a license is included b) you purchase it and a license is included c) you took the photo yourself Here is a very cheap place to get celeb photos: www.photorazzi.com
