    Why I should choose free software and not propietary software for my business??
    (I use MySQL , Apache and PHP)

    Answer: For the features that you get from the proprietary software.

    There are some cool, free, mysql tools that I haven't tried but I found sqlyog years ago and because a) it works; b) it is similar to oracle tools I'd used so there was little to learn I've stuck with it.

    I use a css tool that is licensed too, and find it's worth the small fee to buy it.

    On the other hand I used Zend years ago and never upgraded, when I changed computers I lost the license details and would have needed to upgrade so looked around and found NetBeans - it's free and it doesn't do everything that Zend does, but it does everything that I actually need.

    I've used licensed ftp tools but have changed to filezilla because, again, it does what I need. I may be missing some cool features but if I don't use them then they're not that cool are they?

    Well, I using MySQL server community, Apache Server running on Windows Server 2008 and PHP.
    My boss wants to know is necesary to pay for use them and why use this software. Why not use SQL Server, Visual Net, etc.??
