Free Site Promotion?

    What would some of you suggest when it comes to promoting a free site (built using Angelfire's free service)? I used the free website submission sites and also a banner exchange program. Do you have any other suggestions? Are there any good ways to promote for free or for a small charge?

    Hmm, banner exchanges...got a black cat too? Directories, social bookmarking, directories and a bit more of quality, niche related backlinks.

    I would recommend that you put your site on its own domain before promoting it. Also I would recommend paying the 5 or so dollars per month it would cost to host it professionally.
