I've been planning to start a free service (of course where I also have experience in *can't give poor services*) What do I mean by free services? for example like hosting, galleries, etc etc Is it really profitable? I mean, obviously there will be ads (to cover server expenses and other things). I don't expect to get thousand of people in a month either. what are your thoughts? is anyone doing this? if so, how much are you earning (it's optional to say the amount, just say "quite a dough" or something) Well, just looking at google it just makes me feel that I might be on the right path if I play my cards right
A free service, obviously - if it's good - will attract many people, and with lot of visitors to the site it will become attractive for advertizers. So you can earn money by giving away an attractive service and sell space for ads.
hmm dating sites.. hate them If I were to use adsense in the services, do you think adsense will slit my throat or something?
Using adsense on free services sites is fine (as WhatsTheRent says, plentyoffish is a free service site that are believed to make a lot of money from adsense on their dating site) ...as long as you stick to the adsense TOS e.g. no junk sites.
