Can you recommend a free software that is useful for capturing screenshots on your computer screen instead of using a camera.

    >> Press the "Print Screen" key if you're using Windows.
    >> Try Screengrab for Firefox if you want to capture entire websites (including off page content).
    >> If you want 'moving' screen capture, then have a look at www.camstudio.org.

I prefer you to use FireFox enabled Addons! using those mods you dont need to install any external softwares for capturing the image

Awesome Screenshot: Capture & Annotate by Diigo is the best capture extension I have ever seen. Not only does it capture and allow you to edit (right in your browser), but it provides a url where the image is stored! It is a Chrome extension, so just search it through their extension site.

For a screenshot, just do what Kerosene said and press the "Print Screen", "Prt Scrn", or any variation of that. It's a button on the right side of your keyboard, usually located above insert.

For screen capture, i'd recommend CamStudio. It's not the fanciest program out there, and doesn't offer many editing features, but it's free and gets the job done.
