The link in my sig below allows you to add your press release to Google News for free. Google news is the world's most read news aggregater, so it is great exposure. Google News is also a great place to build backlinks. Again, it costs nothing and your press release will usually be indexed in Google News within an hour.

Tip: Google News will rank your press release higher for your keywords if it is unique, so your best bet is to make it an original release.

Can't agree any more that unique articles are the key.. however just want to ask you few questions here, what is your criteria of accepting articles? Is it only uniqueness and quality that you are looking at or something else as well? If someone submits an article on your site and if there is some problem with the article would you let the person know about it or simply dump the article and sit upon the same? And if in case there are no problems with the same will you publish it or not?

we will publish articles if they are not unique, but you wont be gaining much from us doing so.

If there are issues regarding say spelling or grammer we would review the article first and make changes

Do not confuse press releases with "articles". This is a free service for you to submit a press release about your company or website. Article directories are totally different.

As for the criteria... your press release can't look like a fifth grader wrote it, so make it look professional! You would be a fool to issue a press release that is unprofessional anyway! We accept press releases from all genres. All submissions are pre-read. If your press release is not accepted, then we will email you back letting you know the reason. Most releases are accepted.

Your answer makes complete sense to me. As I said earlier that I agree uniqueness is the key since google is constantly looking towards having unique content and as per me it makes complete sense to provide original content value to the readers. Thanks :)

Agreed that the press releases should be properly written. However, since your is a news website, you are also publishing news articles on your site isn't it? What happens to a news article that has been submitted by someone for your site? What is the criteria of you deciding whether a news article is well written or not?

I had submitted two 'news' articles on your site, could you pm me what has happened to both? Are they still in your review queue?
