Hello, fellow developers. I'm developing a plugin WPBounce that will allow you to monetize bounce traffic for your blog. Here's how it works. A visitor comes to your page from search engine and decides to leave. Right before they try to click that back button they are presented with a lightbox pop up that has relevant Amazon products. Relevancy is based on your post content. If a visitor clicks through the product and buys merchandise on Amazon you get commission 4-6% or more. The plugin is unobtrusive, loads behind the scenes, it's google safe and it doesn't hurt your SEO. In fact it has a positive affect on your SEO because it adds more user engagement and thus visitors stay longer on the page. Some visitors click through to Amazon site and lower your bounce rate at the same time. WPBounce will be released on December 2011. It will go for $97 one time fee. If you sign up before the release you will get a free copy. Click here to reserve your free copy of WPBounce
I like the idea, although I don't know if I would pay $97 for the plugin, it seems more of a $17 type deal IMO. But yeah its a clever idea, good luck.
Well, what if you got to try a free trial version for a couple of months and made extra income that otherwise would've been lost due to bounce traffic? Would you pay $97 for it? I tested this technique on a small blog for a month. 5K unique visitors later I made $60. 11 days into November and I got another $20. Seems to be pretty consistent.
Sounds pretty cool. Is it for a bounce only, meaning when a visitor hits the site and leaves without visiting any other pages, or does it pop up when leaving any page, regardless of the number of pages visited? Thanks - Scott
It can be set to work with bounce traffic only or any page a visitor is leaving. If you interested make sure to reserve your free copy.
Just a quick announcement to let you all know that the we launched. The free version is available for download at http://www.wpbounce.com/
