It's in the other thread, but you can get thousands of free stock photos at http://www.freerangestock.com - they CAN be used for commercial or personal projects.
4chan.org has a lot of images on it you won't find anywhere else, especially in the random section. Hope this helps.
Very good information here, But I want to ask you can I use these photos on video, and than to upload that video on youtube. I saw it is allowed to create, video, but isn't this a distribution?
What about sxc.hu? I've read their license, and in some cases I have to get written permission from them. Can someone tell me is there a template for that. Thanks
Some sites say "royalty free," but you're still supposed to pay for the initial photo, correct? I think SXC is one of those sites.
I should elaborate: by royalty free, do they mean pay for it once, and you can use the image any number of times you want?
Yes, royalty free lets you buy once, use as often as you need it. (But you are still licensing the image - you can't sell or distribute it.) Most free photo site are the same way, you are just paying $0 for the royalty-free license.
