Sorry to seem like I am promoting SubmitterBot again!
BUT, this is an important question!

Currently new members get a FREE url.
Currently we are getting 50-80 new users daily.
Ok, we are getting income from additional url purchases and Subscription purchases.

BUT........I am debating wether or not to charge a nominal fee for signup, just $1 per sign up to help with server costs?

    Interested in opinions please?

I'll stay it free if I am you because if they see that your service is good then they will probably upgrade their account from free to premium.

I think the way you are doing it is great. My only feedback would be that you block URLs when they come from different accounts but have the same domain.

eg. Sorry, another account has already submitted a link on behalf of that website/domain. Please purchase credits to continue promoting your website.

yeah i agree with the guy

you should keep it free to register as it will maintain a high signups everyday though even if you charge a small fee of $1 it will get down the sign-ups to 10-15% initially

Keep it free, you will get more traffic which means more potential buyers.

even a nominal fee of 1$ will keep away users from using your service. I suggest you to keep it free

I'd vote for one free and fee for the rest as it is.

I did my freebie awhile back now, I will probably soon end up paying for additional usage. I was having a technical problem last time however, I'll have to log back in to see if I can recreate it and report the issue...

I think you really shouldn't put up the sign up fee. because its not about the 1 dollar its about the time.. the visitors may not find the one dollar tht big of a deal. but then it takes time to take out your credit card, write the details and then keep worrying if the site is secure or not.
You should introduce VIP memberships and provide extra features to them. Let the user choose by himself weather he wants the site for free or willing to pay :)

I think this is clear to make it free :) Just add something to motivate them in upgrading their account or add something to offer either your own product or affiliate products that is related to what is you are offering.
