Does anyone rate doing stuff like printing out things to put on notice boards with a url on to your site/ebook? Or putting cards in windows off shops? Just thinking it might be worth printing out some flyers to put on university, supermarket notceboards.
I think what is offline need to be offline and what is online need to be online so put this money on online adv...
It wouldnt cost me anything. Just a print out to be on a college notice board saying: Or something like that...
If you get a paperround, print off some high quality, niche-website flyers, and then put one flyer in each paper (say 20+) each day, such a good method.
Hmm, don't have a paperround. Could just spend a couple of hours one evening doing a mail drop with a leaflet saying "make £500 this week" and then just have a url going straight to a click bank ebook?
If you have a free classified ad paper in your area, check out the freebie section. I have posted many ads where I give something away like software or info and then capture their email address so they can be added to my list. Then, I email them products that are related to what they responded to. Most of the time, if you are giving something away, they will put it in the Freebies section 100% free. I have done this many, many times with great results.
Also , some small newspapers will allow a free press release (This can be hard , but with some social engineering , you can get it done.)
I have to agree with Cobano, unless your website is specific to your region, city, or subdivision. If it is not then it would probably be a waste of time, and here is why. If your selling a widget, you can walk all around your city selling the best and cheapest damn widget in the world. If you don't happen to run into anybody in the market for a widget it won't matter. While it is true to some degree that price forces sale, price only forces sale to those people in the market. There are plenty (and I do mean plenty) of cheap and easy ways to advertise to a specific market online. If your budget is only $20 dollars for off-line marketing how much of "your" market can you really reach. For $20 dollars online I can reach 100K people who are looking for a widget for an entire year. Just a thought. I set up a website pulling in 300 leads a month (for a project I was working on) for only $1.50 dollars a month (only pushed the website for 3 months to get what I wanted). Just my 2cents whatever that is worth.
try for distributing your visting card with URL on it...... or try getting a relation with a website owner different from your niche.........try distributing each other visiting cards and this would surely help both of you....
Thanks but I wouldn't know how to get that kind of traffic for $20. Got any tips? What's a visiting card?
Offline advertising coupled with online advertising (notice I didn't say choose one exclusively over the other )would work especially if your site's market is a local one. But just so you don't waste too much marketing materials, think of who your market is and focus your marketing there. So if your site targets students, for example, send out fliers to universities and places students frequent. Again, it helps to have a healthy mix of offline and online advertising. I hope that helps.
Some good suggestions coming in! Thanks people. In my country you can get free business cards so will get some of them done and strategicaly place them: http://www.vistaprint.co.uk/vp/ns/s...http://www.vistaprint.co.uk/vp/ns/bcfree.aspx With also get some small stickers done with the url and basic info. Also do flyers for noticeboards. Hope no one tracks me down from the url and goes after me for spamming the sidewalks!
a friend of mine had good luck printing up flyers, bussiness cards, and signs. His deal was geared towards smokers so he got some localy owned stores that sold cigarretes to put stickers on packs and flyers on cartons (that was my idea) How spammy you wanna get?Think about bars/pubs around schools, buying space above the urinal in the pubs (usually pretty cheap) putting stickers in the pubs WITHOUT permission. Flyers under doors in school housing, apartment boards where most of the people living there are students. Put flyers on vehicles at student events, stickers in the subway or bus areas around schools. Cheap restaurants around schools, school bookstores, etc...
