Free Methods To Promote a website?

I'm currently running a website with about 700+ uniques daily. The only promoting work iv done is by submitting to directories and myspace advertsing, i noticed myspace advertising was pretty useless so i dropped that and am currently only doing directories.

Just wondering what other forms of advertising can I do that won't cost me money.

Social Bookmarks as an initial boost. Try article marketing to. Should help serps a bit.

 

Yes, the free methods will only cost you time like Remotay said. The big ones are social bookmarking and article marketing. I like article marketing the best because it allows you to target certain keywords, which you can put in your resource box.

 

Have you tried article marketing?.. And dun bother with PLR articles and duplicate one. Write em yourself and post them with Article Submitter..

Directories and article marketing all the way matey..And forums by the bucket load, iv found forums to be almost as effective as article marketing, but you need to post to lots of them and frequently and I dont mean just spamming them, i mean join in as if you are a valued member, only putting the link in your signature....Tis all very time consuming this Internet marketing malarky isn't it.

The problem is I don't know if i can do article directories because my website is a myspace resource website? what would i write about... is it possible to write an article not related to your websites topic but just put ur website URL for the backlink?

Well you can also try credit based safelist but you will have to find a responsive list as you will need to read others ads to earn points and inturn use this points to post your ads daily. Well you can try this two if you can spare 1 to 2 hours a day at spam free safelist and my free safelist.

Try writing "Free Pay Per Click Search Engines" in google,yahoo, or msn search and you will find many companies where you will get $20-$50 when you create advertiser account even without depositing anything. I found about ~$1500 for free advertising that way.

You can try press release, free classified ads.
Then you have to do squidoo too. with squidoo, you have your lens displayed instantly, without delay or any review. With squidoo, everybody is an expert.

Some of the methods in there will cost you money, but don't let anybody kid ya, if you want a lot of visitors, you're gonna have to pay for it.
