I have seen in many directory submission sites, two options.

    Free Links
    Free Links With Reciprocal

What is the difference and what is the advantage ?

Any proxy site submission directory (Not Top Site ) ?

May be the free links are no follow.

I kind of wounder some times.

Some people have Free links - Free
Free link with Reciprocal -- $x.xx <-- but they don't say that free link is no Follow.

But I am guessing, they mean that.

Not sure, would really like to know.

    Thanks

If you choose first one it will take months before they approve your website
Second option is quicker - couple of days

    None of the above.

    Free = free link

Free with reciprocal is NOT FREE. It requires a link back to them.

Kinda link free with processing fee.

reciprocal helps the directory build backlinks -- and they provide you a link, more like an exchange instead of a free link.

I think most of the directory's are just trying there luck, they are happy to list you for free but they are just saying a reciprocal would be nice.

Well, there are directory owners offer reciprocal + paid.

So in that sense, you could set up one for reciprocal + free, free in terms of no cost at all.

I think I said before, if its unconditionally free, submitters shouldn't even fill out the blank upon their submissions ;)

But of course there is no such thing. All submitters are obligated/responsible to submit their sites' information. Not that directory owners voluntarily list people's websites though it can be done, but I have never seen such directories yet ;)

So if this "free" means absolutely requires nothing, then I doubt many directories are like that.

They do not have much difference. Others claim that it will have faster approval but I think the difference isn't that relevant.

Think talk about how fast is irrelevant as it depends on the webmasters. Some webmasters may deliberately take longer for those who do not give reciprocal links, some will not. So go by their reputation and listen to those who have tried.

Of course, the disadvantages of a reciprocal is that you are forced to place their links on your site, which may lower your PR as it is not a 1-way backlink.
